Aug 24, 2022 - UPDATE; The Carterville Farmers Market at Cannon Park is permanently CLOSED!! See statement below. The message below was post Sept. 2021 on the market's Facebook page. "Carterville Local Producer Farmers' Market & Craft Fair Good evening everyone. We want to let you all know that after a great deal of thought we have made the decision to permanently close the market. This decision is effective immediately and there will be no market from now on. Mike and I are moving on to a new chapter in our lives. I have finally made the decision to retire and together we have made the decision to move out of the area. With those decisions come a lot of things that need to be done as quickly as possible: retirement arrangements, completing my work, moving arrangements, sorting, packing, upgrading the farm here and getting it ready for the next chapter in it's life, things that need done with our businesses....and on and on the list goes. Sorry about the short notice....this is a post that I've struggled with how to write. I've started posts several times and deleted each one. It will be difficult for me to not have market stuff to do because that's been a part of me since 2013. I have managed the markets we've run and worked with so many wonderful people in the various communities where we've held markets. We've had so many incredible vendors along the way. And I also love the selling side of things as a vendor too. I've had such great conversations with so many customers along the way. We appreciate all of you! I'm going to miss all of you so much! I hope for the best for each and every one of you in wherever your lives lead you. Be safe, stay strong and care for each other! Thank you all for so many wonderful years and wonderful memories. Dee Ann & Mike Hammack."
